Acetal, also known as polyoxymethylene (POM), is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic engineered for strength, dimensional stability, and friction resistance. It’s available in both Acetal Copolymer and Acetal Homopolymer (commonly branded as Delrin®). Both versions offer low moisture absorption and resist warping in wet or humid environments.

Acetal is widely used for machined parts requiring precision and durability. It performs well under load, holds fine threads, and maintains strength across a wide temperature range. It also has good chemical resistance to fuels, oils, and cleaning solvents—though it should not be exposed to strong acids or oxidizing agents.

Both homopolymer and copolymer grades are available with FDA, USDA, NSF, and 3-A Dairy compliant formulations for use in food processing equipment. Natural (white) and black stock shapes are standard.

Available Grades:

  • Acetal Copolymer
  • Acetal Homopolymer (Delrin®)
  • FDA, USDA, NSF compliant
  • Medical-grade variants (available upon request)

Available Colors:

  • Natural (white)
  • Black
  • Custom colors (by special order)

Standard Sheet Sizes:

  • 24 in x 48 in
  • 48 in x 96 in
  • 48 in x 120 in

Thicknesses: 0.062 in to 4 in

Rod Diameters:

  • 0.250 in to 10 in
  • Custom cut sizes available.

Acetal is engineered for high-precision, wear-resistant components in challenging environments:

  • Bushings, bearings, gears, and rollers
  • Manifolds, valve seats, and pump parts
  • Electrical insulators and automotive fasteners
  • Wear strips, guides, and impact-resistant guards
  • Food and beverage equipment components (FDA grades)
  • Medical device components and diagnostic fixtures

We machine Acetal in-house to meet exact part requirements. Whether you’re prototyping or scaling up for production, Acetal’s combination of stiffness, dimensional stability, and surface finish gives you the edge.
