Cutting Half-Inch HDPE Boat Board Into Blanks for a Local Machine Shop

At Silver State Plastics we cut a lot of plastic material to size and projects like this are always satisfying. A local machine shop reached out needing a batch of small blanks cut from half-inch HDPE Boat Board matte sheets. The parts needed to be consistent, clean, and ready for machining.

HDPE Boat Board is tough, dense and made for high-wear environments. It machines well, doesn’t absorb moisture, and stays stable in outdoor use which is why so many fabrication shops rely on it.

We started with full sheets.

The first step was breaking the material down into manageable panels, then running everything through our saws for accurate sizing. Because HDPE can move with heat, every cut has to be controlled and supported so the final blanks stay square and true.

After cutting, we stacked, checked, and wrapped each bundle to keep everything protected and organized for the shop. When they pick these up, they’ll be able to drop them straight into their CNC machines without any extra prep.
