Acrylic/Plexiglass Mirror

Acrylic mirror cut to your spec in Sparks, NV. Lightweight and shatter-safe, a practical alternative to glass for gyms, studios, and retail.

Overview
01

Half the weight of glass.
And it does not shatter.

Acrylic mirror stocked in Sparks in three thicknesses, cut to your dimensions. It goes where a glass mirror is a liability — gyms and studios, retail fixtures, childcare rooms, campers and boats, anywhere a fall or a stray elbow would turn glass into a hazard.

01
Shatter-Safe
Breaks into blunt pieces instead of shards, if it breaks at all. That is the reason most people buy it — not the price.
02
Roughly Half the Weight
Acrylic is about half as dense as glass, so a large mirror is something one person can carry and hang on a partition wall.
03
Cut to Your Size
Any rectangle, circle, or shape from a drawing. Edges cut clean, and we can drill mounting holes while it is on the table.

Three thicknesses, all in 4×8 sheets, cut to your dimensions the same day — one piece or the whole sheet. Tinted, one-way and colored mirror are a normal order rather than a special one; tell us the job and we will confirm the lead time with the price.

Which Thickness

ThicknessWhere it belongs
1/16″Light-duty and fully backed. Craft work, display interiors, anywhere it is bonded flat to a rigid panel. On its own it will read wavy across any real span.
1/8″The one most jobs want. Wall-mounted mirrors on a flat backing, retail fixtures, cabinet and door inserts, camper and RV work.
1/4″Large spans and anything semi-structural, or where the mirror is handled and knocked. Holds itself flatter, which is what you are paying for.

Two Things Worth Knowing Before You Spec It

Flatness
It shows every bump in the wall
A mirror reflects whatever shape it is held in. Acrylic is flexible, so it takes the shape of what it is mounted to — a wall that is slightly out, or adhesive dabs on a bare stud, and you get a funhouse wave. Mount to a flat rigid backer with full-coverage adhesive, or step up a thickness. This is the single most common complaint with acrylic mirror and it is nearly always a mounting problem, not a material problem.
Cleaning
Glass cleaner will ruin it
Ammonia-based cleaners attack acrylic and will haze or craze the face. Warm water, a drop of dish soap, and a soft cloth. It also scratches far more easily than glass, so no paper towel and no dry wiping. Tell whoever cleans the building, because that conversation usually happens after the damage.

Where It Gets Used

Gyms, dance and martial arts studios, and physical therapy rooms, where a glass mirror over a hard floor is a real injury risk. Retail displays and fixtures. Schools, childcare and behavioral health spaces, where shatter resistance is often a requirement rather than a preference. Campers, RVs and boats, where the weight saving matters as much as the safety. Vanity and cabinet inserts. And safety and inspection mirrors on the shop floor. Clear acrylic sheet is a separate stock list, and we cut both the same way.

Common Questions

Is it as clear as a glass mirror?

Close, but not identical. A glass mirror is rigid and dead flat, so its reflection is perfect. Acrylic mirror is a coated sheet and will show slightly more distortion, more so in the thinner gauges and over larger spans. For a gym wall, a display, or a camper, nobody notices. For a bathroom vanity where someone is shaving six inches away, glass is still the better answer and we will tell you that.

Can you cut circles and odd shapes?

Yes. Send a drawing, a DXF, or a template and we will route it. We can also drill mounting holes, radius the corners, and polish edges where the edge will be seen. Say so when you order, because it is easier to do while the part is on the table than after you collect it.

Will it work outdoors?

Standard acrylic mirror is an interior product. The acrylic itself handles sun fine, but the reflective coating on the back is what fails — moisture gets behind it and you get black spotting and edge lift. If it has to live outside, tell us and we will quote a mirror built for it rather than sell you the one on the rack.
