Polypropylene (PP) is a semi-crystalline polymer known for its outstanding chemical resistance, low moisture absorption, and excellent mechanical fatigue strength. It performs reliably in environments where acids, alkalis, or solvents would degrade other plastics.

It’s often used in applications where repeated flexing, stress, or vibration occurs, thanks to its superior resistance to fatigue. Polypropylene also has excellent insulating properties and maintains its performance in both wet and chemically aggressive environments.

This material is weldable, thermoformable, and machinable. It does not stress-crack and is ideal for fluid handling, chemical containment, and food-related uses. FDA-compliant grades are available, as well as both homopolymer and copolymer variants. Homopolymer offers slightly higher rigidity and tensile strength, while copolymer provides better impact resistance, especially in cold temperatures.

Available Grades:

  • Homopolymer Polypropylene
  • Copolymer Polypropylene
  • FDA Compliant
  • UV-Resistant and Flame-Retardant (available by request)

Standard Colors:

  • Natural (translucent white)
  • White
  • Black
  • Custom colors available by request

Standard Sheet Sizes:

  • 48 in x 96 in
  • 48 in x 120 in

Thickness: 0.125 in to 3 in

Rod Diameters: 0.250 in to 8 in

We also offer custom cut-to-size, welding, and CNC machining services in-house.

Polypropylene is widely used in chemical, food processing, and industrial settings due to its resistance to corrosion and stress.

  • Chemical tanks, pipes, and duct systems
  • Food processing components (FDA grades)
  • Orthotic and prosthetic devices
  • Pump parts and valve housings
  • Laboratory cabinetry and trays
  • Automotive battery boxes and fluid containers
  • Industrial wear pads and bushings

At Silver State Plastics, we stock polypropylene in sheets and rods, cut and machined to your exact specifications. If your project demands a lightweight, chemically resistant material that handles repeated stress, polypropylene is the smart choice.
