Is it real wood or stone?
No — it's a microsurfaced impact acrylic sheet with a realistic printed-and-textured surface. That's the point: it engraves and cuts like plastic, weighs a fraction of stone, and every sheet is identical. From a few feet away, most people can't tell.
How does the engraving get its color?
The Naturals are 2-ply: a textured cap over a contrasting core. When we laser through the cap, the core color shows — white, black, ash, beige, copper, and more depending on the combination you pick from the chart above.
Can you make the finished product for me?
Yes. Bring us your text or artwork and we'll cut and laser engrave the finished pieces in-house — badges, plaques, signs, or custom shapes. You don't need your own laser, and you don't need to buy a full sheet.
Can it be used outdoors?
The Naturals are rated outdoor weatherable. For a piece in year-round direct sun, tell us when you request a quote and we'll confirm the right combination and finish for the location.
Which texture should I pick for high contrast text?
Pick a combination where the core strongly contrasts the cap: Mojave Black/White, Barnwood Grey/White, or Midnight Leather/White read sharpest at distance. For a subtler, tone-on-tone look, go Mojave Black/Black or Celestial Grey/Grey. We're happy to engrave a test scrap before you commit.
