Tactile lettering and Grade 2 Braille signage — designed, proofed, and fabricated in our own shop. We're not a sign shop. We're the ADA signage specialists contractors call when the package has to be right the first time.
We don't do channel letters, banners, or vehicle wraps — and we don't want to. We do code-driven interior signage: tactile, Braille, and the drawings that get it approved.
Under the 2010 ADA Standards, signs that identify a permanent room or space require raised characters and Grade 2 Braille. Directional and informational signs don't — but still have to follow visual rules. We build all of it.
Real jobs photographed in our shop — not staged, not stock. This is what your parts look like before they ship.
Don't have a formal sign schedule? A floor plan, a punch list, or a walk-through works too.
We're a direct authorized Rowmark distributor — the sheet stock your signs are made from lives in our warehouse, not on a truck. Rowmark ADA Alternative in 48 stock colors, plus the full engraving materials catalog.
The 2010 ADA Standards and ICC A117.1 are specific. These are the requirements that fail signs — and every proof we produce is checked against them before anything is cut.
Any sign that identifies a permanent room or space — room numbers, office and conference room signs, restrooms, stairwells, and exits — must have raised tactile characters and Grade 2 Braille under the 2010 ADA Standards. This includes employee-only areas, not just public spaces. Directional and informational signs don't require Braille but must follow visual character and contrast rules.
For identification signs: raised uppercase sans-serif characters 5/8" to 2" tall, Grade 2 Braille with properly domed and spaced dots, a non-glare finish, strong contrast between characters and background, correct pictogram fields, and correct mounting — latch side of the door with tactile characters 48"–60" from the floor. Miss any one of those and the sign can fail inspection.
Yes — that's our specialty. Send the sign schedule from your drawing set and we'll return a priced proof package with production drawings for each sign type, including sizes, colors, mounting methods, and the code requirements each sign satisfies. We can also produce submittal-ready documentation for projects that require approval before fabrication.
Usually, yes. With 48 stock substrate colors plus appliqué combinations, we can match or come very close to most existing interior sign programs. Send us a photo and a measurement, and we'll confirm before you order.
Yes. California adds requirements beyond the federal standards — including Title 24 geometric restroom door signs (circle and triangle) and stricter Braille specifications. We've produced multi-phase CBC Chapter 11B sign packages for California projects and build to the stricter spec when your project calls for it.
Yes. Our trade program produces the ADA line items of your project — tactile, Braille, code signage — and ships them to you unbranded. You deliver to your customer under your own name. You keep the relationship and the margin on the rest of the package.
Attach your sign schedule, floor plan, or room list — or just describe the project. We'll come back with pricing and proofs. Or call (775) 358-8211.
Silver State Plastics designs and fabricates ADA-compliant signage for buildings across Northern Nevada — room identification signs, restroom signs, stairwell and code signage, exit signs, and wayfinding. Every tactile sign is produced in-house with raised characters and Grade 2 Braille on non-glare, ADA-engineered materials, using our laser and CNC capability and Raster-method Braille.
As a direct authorized Rowmark distributor, we stock ADA Alternative substrate and appliqué in 48 colors — which means fast turnaround and color-matched sign programs without freight delays.
General contractors and tenant-improvement teams use us for the part of the sign package that gets buildings approved: compliance-checked production drawings, priced from the architect's sign schedule, followed by signs fabricated to those exact drawings. Property managers use us for replacements and re-numbers matched to existing signage. Sign shops use our trade program for the Braille work they don't produce themselves.
