Safe-T-Mark is Rowmark’s fire retardant engraving sheet for electrical tags, equipment ID and control panels. Its black core colors are rated UL 94 V-0, it does not conduct electricity, and Rowmark say it compares to traditional phenolic in flame tests and electrical conductivity. The difference is in the shop: it saws, drills, shears and bends like ordinary engraving sheet.

Cap color over the engraving core. All nine come in 1/16″, as 2-ply or 3-ply. The UL 94 V-0 rating covers the four black core colors, marked below. Send the Rowmark item code with your quantity.

No. Rowmark make it from a flame retardant modified ABS. Its black core colors are rated UL 94 V-0 (yellow card E354751), and Rowmark say it compares to traditional phenolic in flame tests and electrical conductivity. Rowmark built it to take the handling and fabrication trouble out of traditional phenolic sheet. We do not carry true phenolic right now, so Safe-T-Mark is the closest alternative we offer when a spec names it.
Rowmark list Safe-T-Mark for rotary engraving only, to a cutting depth of .003″. We engrave it on our CNC with a rotating carbide cutter. If your job has to go on a laser, ask us about DurMark or LaserMax Tri-Layer instead.
Rowmark rate it for indoor use. For exterior tags and panels, DurMark and LaserMax Tri-Layer are both listed for outdoor use.
2-ply is a cap color over a contrasting core: engrave through the cap and the core shows. 3-ply adds a third layer. Rowmark make every Safe-T-Mark color both ways in 1/16″. Tell us how the tag will be engraved and we will match the ply.

Rotary only — Rowmark do not list it as a laser material. Indoor use. It softens enough to bend at about 180°F, and it shears at 1/16″ and under.
Worth checking before you specify. The UL 94 V-0 rating applies to the black core colors only: Vibrant Orange/Black, Yellow/Black, White/Black and Grey/Black. Confirm the exact product and thickness for any required rating. Separately, Rowmark’s material information sheet (April 2026) lists a 24″ × 49″ sheet and a 1/8″ thickness, while their current info card and product page list 24⅛″ × 48¾″ and item codes in 1/16″ only. We show the info card. If your spec depends on either, call us and we will confirm with Rowmark.
